About the Grant
The California Energy Commission is awarding Rim of the World Unified School District a California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency (CalSHAPE) Plumbing Program Grant in the amount of $522,786.00.
California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency (CalSHAPE) provides funding to upgrade heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC) systems in public schools and replace non compliant plumbing fixtures and appliances that fail to meet water efficiency standards.
CalSHAPE Plumbing Grants cover:
- Bathroom faucets
- Classroom faucets (Gooseneck faucet)
- Toilets and Urinals
- Washing machines, Dishwashers, Ice machines – non ENERGY STAR (pre 2010)
- Shower heads in locker rooms
Outcome
The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the grant at the June 6, 2024 Board Meeting in Open Session. This grant will support the following District Goals:
4 – Safe, Well-Maintained and Secure Facilities
6 – Budget, Infrastructure, and Resources
